Ammachi
This story is about a little girl of nine accompanied by her old grandmother in a very depressed mood with all the clothes packed seem to be walking on the road. They are waiting for the bus to Madurai. The grandmother becomes very worried looking for help to know about her daughter ponnie who is found to be missing. On seeing the grandmother a boy comes to tell her about the news of many girls who have been kidnapped for being forced in to the Deva Dasi system. The little girl doesn’t know anything about her mother expecting her mother for the festival to be held at Madurai.
Comment:
The social practice which had been practiced seems to be prevalent in some parts of the country is made visible and the wish of the child to be made asleep by the favourite song of her mother is found to be nice.
