PEARL INSIDE THE OYESTER

I, Pearl inside the oyester,

Concealed

In the depth of

Darkness

Wrapped by the sea

Unknown

I, Pearl inside the oyester,

A possession

Neither loved nor admired.

Accessoriezed.

I, pearl inside the oyester,

Befriended by Solitude

I was told I don’t belong

To the breed who veil the untold

I, pearl inside the oyester,

Concealed

Still Conceals the disguised.

I, pearl inside the oyester,

Dazzles in Darkness

Concealed… Conceals…

I, pearl INSIDE the oyester.

  1. The pearl, retorts it’s deep bedded emotions. The pearl, the speaker elaborates its/her confined life, hidden life, concealed life, categorised life. Technically, the pearl in all its glory as an ornament, a niche in bejewelling art is after all flesh and soul. The pearl hardens itself under the confines and shines after ripped open. This speaker pearl tries to outpour her similar augments with alacrity and all that she finds is her adequateness in her sophisticated muted life. Her smile, her joy, her glitters can only be admonished when she is shelled out and exposed to the air. The suffocation of a concealed life is beautifully captured by the poet. It takes a lot of personal undergoings to pen out pain like a painting…

  2. This one indeed evokes the deep sympathy in the mind of reader so strong with the simple words in simple order. And that is what the intention of the poem is also .. I believe.

I wondered reading this part and how its art work gracefully gathered in author’s mind
Though ever concealed, Pearl is always Pearl

  3. The poetess has long-concealed the pearl of her poetic talent with in her. It is a very personal comment though! As a strange reader Pearl Inside the Oyester is a very powerful, melting-the-heart poem constructed very luicdy. Spontaneous thoughts are meant to put up lucidly. The speaker longing for attention, though being worthy of being celebrated is expressed through single metaphor is definitely striking. The speaker not only mourns her concealment but also she conceals something? Conceals-what Is a question that only the poet knows the answer. May be she conceals the wicked behaviours of her concealer. With Wordsworthic and Nerudaic(lacks the I-don’t-give-a-damn attitude though) style combined this is a heart hitting poem.
